Obituary

Elizabeth Kathleen Robinson Meeker was born at Heights Hospital, Houston, Texas on June 16, 1969 and went to be with the Lord on August 14, 2023. Elizabeth graduated from Klein High School in 1987 and attended Texas Christian University, Fort Worth, Texas for two years and was a proud member of the TCU Marching Band. In 1991, she graduated Cum Laude from Sam Houston State University, Huntsville, Texas. Elizabeth was awarded her Masters of Library Science Degree in 2011 from North Texas State University, Denton, Texas.

Elizabeth's many accomplishments during her 32 year career with Aldine Independent School District:

Technology Specialist, Goodman Elementary 1991-2008;

Librarian, Calvert Elementary 2008-2015;

Librarian/ Systems Administrator, Aldine Education Center Librarian 2015-2019;

And Program Director of Digital Library Services 2019-2023.

Elizabeth was instrumental in helping Aldine librarians embrace new technologies, STEM activities and library makerspaces.

Texas Library Association member, Disaster Relief Committee, Local Arrangements committee

TALL Texan 2014 - Chosen as one of twenty-four librarians to participate in TxLA's Accelerated Library Leadership Institute.

Texas Association of School Library Administrators, treasurer.

Elizabeth is survived by her husband, the love of her life, Justin Meeker, sons Tripp and Jackson Hensley, Mother and Stepfather, Miriam and Victor Riewe, Mother in Law and Father in Law, Sallie and Roger Meeker, half brothers, Steven and David Riewe, stepdaughters, Faith and Trinity Meeker and granddaughter Iliya, her beloved Aunt and Uncle, Pam and Harold Dorsey, Aunt and Uncle, Nancy and Gary Manuel, cousins Kyle and David Manuel, Julie Dorsey Pauling and Anna Dorsey Bodnar.

Elizabeth is predeceased by her father, John Robert Robinson, Jr., grandparents, Eddie and Thelma Manuel and O. B. and Eva K Poynor. Elizabeth also leaves behind a host of friends and extended family.

The family would like to thank the Doctors and Nurses at Methodist Hospital Willowbrook for their unending efforts to help Elizabeth and also to Devotion Hospice and their care takers who took excellent care and showed immense compassion toward Elizabeth.
