Elizabeth Layton's Obituary
Elizabeth Gayle Bearden Layton was born March 19, 1946 and passed away on December 21, 2018. She is preceded in death by her loving parents, Alvis Elbert Bearden and Rayford Jewel Dawson Bearden. Gayle is survived by her husband of 49 years Vernon R. Layton and her three children, son Christopher D. Layton and daughter-in-law Kimberly, son Ronald W. Layton, daughter Penny L. Layton Oelschlegel and son-in-law Jason, along with two grandchildren, Madelynn Jewel and Colton Charles Oelschlegel , as well as, her brother Ray Bearden and her sister Mona "Muz" Chandler. She was a very caring and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and a cherished friend to all her knew her.
She was a strong Christian woman who knew her earthly life would end and she passed peacefully knowing she would enter the Pearly Gates of Heaven. Her family and friends, while heartbroken over losing her, are comforted to know she is no longer suffering and will now spend an eternity with our Lord Jesus. In lieu of flowers the family has asked for donations be made in Gayle's honor to the American Cancer Society. Upon Gayle's wishes, the family has chosen cremation. She will return home with the family in a memorial teddy bear. A memorial service will be held on January 3rd at 6:30 p.m. at Magnolia Apostolic Tabernacle, 18235 FM1488, Magnolia TX 77354.
