Elizabeth Ann Childs
Retired business owner and full time Wife/Mom/Grammie went to her Heavenly home on Sunday, September 2, 2018 after a courageous battle with pancreatic cancer.
Born in Fort Benning, GA., and raised in Vine Grove, KY., Ann was the second oldest daughter of the late John D. Jones and Chieko Y. Jones.
Raising her family in Houston, TX, Ann always put her children first. Through involvement with her children's sports activities, she met the love of her life and soul mate, Charlie Childs. They were married in 1996 and established a blended family that continued to grow stronger through the years. Family was always first in Ann's mind. Her love for others was so great she often referred to special people as family. She referred to them as "Mom", "Dad", or "Sister". She even added a special "Son" to her expanded Family circle.
Her greatest joy was becoming a Grandmother. She was a full time Grammie to 3 beautiful grandchildren. There was never any obstacle too great to keep her from spending quality time with them.
Her Ranch in Junction, TX. brought her so much happiness. She developed relationships with neighbors and businesses (especially at the local feed store). She worked tirelessly on improving the property often outworking her husband. She enjoyed long walks and watching the wildlife. She left her mark wherever she went.
Ann is survived by her soulmate Charlie Childs, her children Brent Eiden and wife Meghan, Christopher Childs and wife Lori, Brandon Eiden, and considered son Kartik Kurup; her grandchildren Tyler Eiden, Beckham Childs, and Alice Eiden; her siblings Jane Winner and husband Chuck, Dan Jones and wife Jetta, Ken Jones and wife Mary; and numerous cousins, nephews, and nieces, and of course Bailey her dog that she elevated to almost human status. Ann is predeceased by her parents John D. Jones and Chieko Y. Jones and her sister Mary Logsdon.
Ann was honored at a memorial service at Houston Northwest Baptist Church on Tuesday September 4, 2018. The service was full of love and hugs, two things very important to Ann.
Memorial contributions may be made to Houston Northwest Baptist Church, 19911 SH 249, Houston, TX. 77070.
A life well lived, to God be the glory!
