He was a member of the United States Navy for 4 years and on November 29th, 1950 he married Grace Elizabeth Layfield his wife of 52 years.

He is survived by his children: Steven and his wife Paula, Lisa, Jeffery and his wife Dana, and grandchildren: Theresa, Erica, Tyler, Andrew, Michelle, Melissa, Emily, Bethany, Victoria and Reid. He was preceded in death by his loving wife of 52 years Grace and his daughter Mary Christine.

Visitation will be Friday 9/2/2016 from 1:00 pm to 2:00 pm at Klein Funeral Home 14711 FM 1488 Magnolia, Texas 77354 and the Service will be immediately following the visitation. Pallbearers: Steven Shockey, Jeffery Shockey, Tyler Shockey, Reid Shockey, Dale Pearson and Rick Buxton.
