Our beloved Eleanor, sister and close friend, passed away at home peacefully on January 5th, 2024. I've never known anyone who was as tenacious of life as she. For more than 18 years, battling and enduring one terrible cancer after another, she remained upbeat and positive; always good, generous and kind. It is little wonder she had so many loyal and loving friends.

Eleanor had many stories to tell from her fun and interesting life, with which she would captivate her audience with her wit. And she only needed to walk into a room to illuminate it.

She had an amazing and unique sense of style, which was eye-stopping the moment you walked into the house that she and her husband, Frank, designed and built.

Eleanor was a gifted businesswoman who, with her business partner, Steve Smith built S&Y Designs. A very successful contracting company that designed and built decks, patios and screen rooms. They remained in high demand throughout the greater Woodlands area.

In addition to her many friends, she is survived by her brother, Ricard Young, her sister, Judi MacPherson, and nieces, Ann Young, Carolyn Young Larmore, Rachel Young and nephew, Richard Young, Jr., plus six grandnieces.

She was preceded by her beloved husband Frank Battista and her dear parents, Betty and Saul Young, about whom she spoke until the end, as well as her niece Elizabeth Young.

There will be a reception after the service at Eleanor's home in Lake Windcrest.
