Obituary

Elaine Carol Martin, 85, passed away peacefully into her eternal rest on May 19th.  She was born on June 21, 1939 in Orange N.J. to Andrew and Mae Martin. She grew up in East Orange N.J. and attended Clifford Scott High School.  After finishing High School, Elaine went to work for Prudential Insurance Company and remained with them for 37 years, retiring July 25,1994.

Elaine loved music, playing the piano and the acoustic guitar, and singing in her Episcopal Church choir.  She also loved to bowl, and was in a league for several years. She enjoyed traveling, and spent a lot of time with friends driving all over the USA in her RV.  She also loved going to Broadway musicals, and listening to Josh Groban music.  She also loved a good card game.

Elaine never had children, but she had a great love for dogs.  She loved cocker spaniels in particular, and had three of them throughout her life - Toby, Lucky and Buffy.   She also devoted much of her time and energy as a caregiver to her elderly parents before they passed away in 1988 and 1993.  Nine years into her retirement, she decided to make a big move from New Jersey to Texas to be closer to two of her nieces.  She moved to Tomball, Tx in 2003 and made Texas her new home.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Andrew and Mae Martin, and her sister Janet Ball.  She was also preceded in death by her longtime childhood friends, Kathryn Marafino and Elsie Schade.

She is survived by her cousins Linda Christophersen Yee (Arthur), Leigh Christophersen (Carolyn), Erik Christophersen and Leif Christophersen. She is also survived by her three loving nieces, Claire Hevle (Rick), Susan Homrighaus (Kyle) and Donna Mayes. She is also survived by great nephews, Callum Hevle (Haley), Braden Hevle, Mason Hevle, Kyle Thomas (Alyssa), Chase Thomas, and Josh Witmer (Jen).  She is also survived by great nieces Amanda Thomas and Mandy Zomberg (Alex).  She is also survived by great-great nephews Cooper Hevle, Joey Zomberg, and Jensen Witmer.  Finally, Elaine is also survived by her great-great nieces, Grace Hevle, Haley Zomberg and Jayda Witmer.

Elaine will be fondly remembered by her loving family and friends.
