Elaine Merritt Edwards, of Spring, Texas passed away July 22, 2021. She was born March 31, 1940, in Greenville, South Carolina to the late Raymond H. Merritt and Mary Helen McWhite Merritt.
Elaine, a beloved mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend to many, went to be with her eternal family in heaven at the age of 81. She had a very outgoing and contagious personality and a knack for making everyone laugh and feel comfortable. Children called her the neighborhood nanny because they loved her.
Elaine was known for never having met a stranger, and was no stranger to hardship either.
She was proud of being a "Pioneer Woman", responsible, durable and having a strong work ethic. She was a very loyal and reliable member to her family and friends who all loved her very deeply and will miss her tremendously.
Elaine is survived by her son, Michael Walton and wife, Cindy, along with her granddaughter, Michaella Gilliland and husband, Joseph and one great grandson, Wesley Michael. She is also survived by four siblings, Bill Merritt and wife Sylvia, Kingwood, Tx; Martha Shoffner, Burlington, North Carolina; Mona Chandler, Charlotte, North Carolina and Michael Merritt, West Hills, California.
In addition, she is survived by many nieces, nephews and cousins.
Her favorite bible verse was Psalm 23 and one of her favorite hymns was How Great Thou Art.

on Tuesday, July 27, 2021 from 5:00-8:00 pm. A
memorial
service will be held on Wednesday, July 28, 2021 at 10:00 am at the funeral home followed by a graveside service at Grand View Memorial Park,

at 1:00 pm.
