Effie, 85, passed away on August 27, 2024 in Tomball, Texas. She was born on September 24, 1938 in Houston Texas to George Dudley Simms and Ozell Moon Simms. Effie lived a beautiful life alongside her Husband Wallie Sr. and her two sons Edwin and Wallie Jr. After Wallie Sr was released from the military, they purchased a home in Tomball Tx and started a carpet business and she helped him until their sons were old enough to take over.

Effie enjoyed swinging on her front porch and dancing around the living room with Wallie to country Gospel music. She spent most of her time raising a family and helping at the church as much as she could whether it be in Sunday school, the kitchen, or the nursery with the babies. She was very devoted to the lord, and you could find her and Wallie sitting in the 3rd to last pew every Sunday at church. When she wasn't at church or at home, you could find her at the city library picking out books to read as she had a huge passion for literature, or you would find her talking about her children/grandchildren to anyone who would listen in the grocery aisles. Effie utilized her time by always helping others when they were in need even if she didn't have a solution.

After her children grew older and had children of their own, she became Nana. She cherished all her children/ grandchildren as if they were her own. Her home was always open for any friend or family member as she had a pure heart of gold. She loved being happy and would not want anyone to be sad as it's not a goodbye, it's an I'll see ya later alligator.

Effie is preceded in death by both her mom and dad, Her Sister, her two brothers, her two Daughters and three great grandchildren
