Effie Mae (Schmidt) Marcus, 95, of Cypress passed away November 7, 2018. She was born February 8, 1923 in Cypress to John and Ida (Weder) Schmidt. She was a 1940 graduate of Cypress High School, later to become Cypress Fairbanks. She and her husband (Billy) were dairy farmers in the Cypress area for many years, and retired to their farm in Jewett, TX., until their return to Cypress in 1999.
In recent years most of her time was spent sitting in her wheelchair at the front door waving to neighbors and school kids. She is preceded in death by her husband (Billy), her parents, 5 sisters, 4 brothers and granddaughter Baby Girl DeHay. She is survived by Daughters and Son, Gayle DeHay, Janice (Mike) Hartensteiner, Dennis "Bimbo" (Tammy Jo) Marcus, Sandy (Alan) Grissom, Sister-in-law Dorothy Zoch. Also survived by many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
