Edwin Baranowski of Buckhorn, Texas, passed away peacefully at the farm he loved on July 12, 2026. He was born and spent his childhood on Houston's northside, the second of five children born to Charles and Mary Baranowski.

Ed is survived by his son, Chuck; his lifelong companion, Linda; and his brother, David. He is also survived by his daughter-in-law, Melissa, and his grandsons, Charles and Aksel. He was preceded in death by his parents; his brothers, Florian and Paul; and his sister, Elizabeth.

Ed had a passion for music. He played in Houston clubs with the band he formed in high school. He went on to become a locally recognized jazz musician and was often found after work in his music room practicing his guitar.

He joined the Air Force in 1967, where he learned aircraft painting. After his military service, he began a 40-year career with Garrett Corporation, working his way up from painter to department leader. He received national recognition as a Master Painter, ranked in the top five (5) in the USA.

Ed retired to his farm in Buckhorn, where he often hosted family reunions and gatherings. There, he enjoyed his hobbies of vintage car restoration and life as a gentleman farmer. He took special pride in being grandpa to Charlie and Askel who lived nextdoor. He will be greatly missed by his friends, family, and community.

Oak Knoll Cemetery. In Bellville on Hwy 36 and FM 529, on Mechanic St. and FM 529
