Obituary

Edward Lovell Schirm, III, known to many as Lovell, passed away peacefully in his Conroe, Texas home on April 6, 2025, at the age of 75. Born on May 24, 1949, in Decatur, GA, Lovell was the son of the late Edward Lovell Schirm, Jr. and Evola Yonge Schirm. He was raised in Savannah, GA, where he graduated from Savannah Country Day School and Armstrong College.

Lovell served in the U.S. Naval Reserve for four years, demonstrating his dedication and service to his country. His passion for performance and racing cars led him to work on Formula Fords in Jacksonville, FL, where he contributed to a car that won the SCCA National Championship in 1983. As a perfectionistic mechanic, Lovell was employed by Skip Barber Racing School as a crew chief manager in Connecticut, traveling extensively with the racing team.

Later, Lovell moved to the Houston area, where he ventured into the retail construction business before starting his own commercial painting business, which he successfully ran for several years. He enjoyed tinkering with hot rods, bass fishing, and spending time with his beloved dogs.

Lovell is survived by his brother, Stephens Brady Schirm, and his wife, Laurie Fee Schirm of Marietta, GA; his cousins, Theodore Page Jr., and Theodore Page, III of Houston, TX; and Philip Yonge of Clayton, GA. He was predeceased by his parents, Edward Lovell Schirm, Jr. and Evola Yonge Schirm.
