Edward L. (Ned) Moore Jr., beloved husband, father, brother, father in law, grandfather, colleague and friend to many passed away suddenly on July 17, 2018.  He loved well and was loved well in return.

Ned was born in Dallas, Texas on September 9, 1943 to the late Mary Golden and Edward L. Moore Sr..  He graduated from North Texas State University in 1965 and began his fifty year career in the surety bonding and insurance business.

A Houston resident for forty-one years, Ned loved the outdoors, especially fishing along the Texas Gulf Coast and hunting trips with family and friends.  At Thanksgiving he enjoyed being the resident "turkey fryer" for friends and neighbors.  He was affectionately referred to as "Doodad" by his grandchildren because he was always tinkering with something or looking for a project to work on in his much beloved garage.  Ned never met a stranger and counted people in all walks of life amongst his friends.

A life long Episcopalian, he served the Lord as vestryman and junior warden.  He also attended BSF for 7 years where he dedicated himself to studying the Bible.

Ned was preceded in death by his brother Robert Moore.  He is survived by Janet Elizabeth, his loving wife of forty-eight years; his three sons, Stephen Brant Moore (Christie), Edward Lockwood (Ned) Moore III (Marci), Jon Christopher Moore; grandchildren Garrett, Emory Elizabeth, Mary Katherine, Duncan; sister Deborah Todd; sister in law Lynn Moore and fifteen beloved nieces and nephews and several sisters and brothers in law.

A Memorial Service will be held Friday, August 3, 2018 at Saint Dunstan's Episcopal Church located at 14301 Stuebner Airline Road at 2:00 P.M.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations in honor of Ned be made to Saint Dunstan's Episcopal Church Memorial Fund. The family would like to thank Dr. Neal Kleiman for taking such good care of Ned for the past twenty-eight years.
