Edmund Jeffrey Leavitt, was born on Jan 9, 1943 in Houston Texas. He went to be with the lord on 1/12/23 after just celebrating his 80th birthday. He was raised in McGregror Texas and graduated from McGregor High School in 1961. After his graduation from high school he attended Tyler Junior College and then joined the army national guard in California. He had many jobs in the early years and then attended machinist school which led to his career in the space industry at Nasa. He started at Bendix Corporation in the 1970's and then went to Ford Aerospace, Lockheed Martin and then ultimately ended his career at United Space Alliance where he retired in 2008.

Jeff spent much of his free time hunting, fishing, and training bird dogs. He was an avid outdoorsman with lifetime memberships to Ducks Unlimited and Quails Unlimited. He loved his Houston Astros, following local sports, and keeping up with his grandchildren's athletic pursuits. He spent many years refereeing for little league football and always supported community and youth activities. His family were early settlers in the state of Texas, and he took great pride in Texas history. Any chance he had he would go to his ranch in south Texas for hunting and relaxation.

Jeff and Mary met and married on Oct 12, 2009 where their families were joined, expanding his family. Many memories were made over their 14 year marriage and they celebrated many milestones and created a wonderful life together.

Jeff was proceeded in death by his father Edmund Leavitt, mother Elizabeth Amsler Leavitt and son David Schultz. He is survived by his wife Mary Leavitt. His son Charles Amsler Leavitt and wife Marissa; his grandson Jett and granddaughters Evie and Charli Leavitt. His daughter Laura Strood and husband Justin; granddaughters Aleena and Emma Strood. His daughter in law Kirsten Schultz; grandchildren Blake and Grace Schultz. His brother Joel Leavitt and wife Laureen.

Friends are cordially invited to Celebration of Life Service on Friday January 20, 2022 at 2pm with visitation prior to the service at Klein Funeral Home 1400 W. Main St, Tomball, Tx 77375. Immediately following all are invited to a reception at the Leavitt/Strood Home in Hockley, Texas.
