Ed was born in San Antonio, Texas. His early years were spent traveling the world as the oldest son in a military family. The family settled in Magnolia, Texas where Ed was active at Magnolia High School as a member of the band and football team. He later went to the University of Houston. He married the love of his life, Kennette in 1977 and they started their family.

Ed has been a strong member of the community for the last 40 years as the Owner of the Ed Loucks Insurance Agency. He was a volunteer firefighter for 10 years. As his children got older, he found himself as Booster Dad. He spent 20 years as an active member of the South Texas Youth Soccer Association and US Youth Soccer.

Ed was larger then life and he enjoyed spending time on the beach with his friends and family flying kites and listening to Jimmy Buffet Music.

Ed is survived by his wife of 44 years, Kennette K. Pye Loucks. His children, Athena Loucks Herzinger (Tim), Adam Loucks (Margaret) and Andrea Loucks Lankford (Brandon)
His grandchildren Tucker Herzinger, Emma Loucks, Abby Loucks, Bentley Lankford and Brandon Lankford. His siblings: Jacky Loucks Martens, Janet Loucks Neal (Ron), Joy Loucks Quinn (Darrell), Andy Pye (Norma). His mother and father in law Kenneth and Lily Pye. He has many loved cousins, nephews, nieces, great-nephews and nieces.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Edmund and Emma Jean Loucks. His brother in law, Kenneth Martens. His grandparents, Grady and Blanche Everett, Jane Loucks and Evan T. Roberts.
