Eddie Lee August Steve Hentschel was born December 24, 1934 in La Grange, Texas and went to be with the Lord on March 17th, 2019.
Eddie was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, brother, uncle and friend. Eddie loved being surrounded by family, home cooking, fishing at Lake Somerville and on the Colorado River with all the kids, and the Astros. He was our beloved Papaw, Big Peanut and "Jak se mas".
Eddie was a truck driver from the age of 14 and he loved going all across the country. For years, he drove with his wife, Jean.
Eddie served 4 years in the Air Force and was an airplane mechanic.
He is preceded in death by his parents John and Julia Hentschel, wife Alice Jean Hentschel, daughter Julia Elizabeth Hentschel, brothers John and wife Hattie, Jerry and wife Ann, James, Norbert and Dub, sisters in law Janice and Linda, and grandson Lil' Eddie Hentschel.
Surviving to cherish his memory are children Mary Guerra and husband Sam, John Hentschel and wife Ruth, Evelyn DuBose, Tuana Blevins and husband Gene and Alice Hentschel, grandchildren Monica, Brandy, Sam, Carrie, Mason, Printer, Lindsay, Grayson, Ray, Kati and Taylor, 7 great-grandchildren, siblings Ruby Fehrle, Mary Ann Simpson, Les Hentschel and Franklin Hentschel and numerous nieces, nephew, other family members and friends.
The family would like to give a special thanks to Evelyn DuBose and Ruby Fehrle for always taking such good care of dad.
