Gale Zeiler, age 75, passed away on August 4, 2021.  Born February 26, 1946 in Del Norte, CO, Gale was preceded in death by his beloved wife Georgia Meredith Zeiler and is survived by their children Beth Ann Harris and Holly Meredith Pavia, her spouse, Andrea Pavia, and grandson Massimo Meredith Pavia.   Gale was the son of Gus and Verna Zeiler of Del Norte, CO and the brother of Connie Henke Zeiler.

Gale was a member of the high school debate team and known for his excellence in public and extemporaneous speaking. He graduated as prom king his senior year and was well liked by faculty and students.   He then attended the University of Colorado at Boulder and graduated with an electrical engineering degree.   The sound of a friendly Southern drawl and a chance for warmer weather lured him to Texas upon graduation.  It was at Texas Instruments "T.I." that he met the love of his life, Georgia Meredith. They were married for 49 years and were each other's soul mates and inseparable as best friends.   From T.I. Gale went on to have a career at the forefront of technology before little-known products became common household names.  He was one of the early employees of Compaq Computer, a company that developed the first desktop computer, and he was one of the first procurement managers for Apple's iconic iPod.  Ironically Gale was not at a technologist; he preferred paying in cash in lieu of bitcoin and shaking a person's hand in lieu of liking their Facebook post.  Gale's true passions were ham radios and small talk.  He spoke with over 200 countries including Borneo and Easter Island.   His ham radio antenna was the subject of many homeowner association meetings.   Gale was happiest when he was piddling in the garage, taking Georgia out for Shipley's donuts or watching a Nascar race while eating a ham sandwich.  Like his father, he became a private pilot and loved washing the belly of the plane and volunteering on the weekends at Hook's airport.  His daughters fondly remember his favorite phrases like "Just get the ball over the net, don't beat yourself" and "never let the tank get less than half way."   For all who knew him, Gale was a kind soul with a gentle smile and quirky hobbies.   He will be greatly missed.

There will be a visitation at Klein Funeral Home Champion Forest on Saturday, August 14 from 10am to 2pm.  In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in Gale's memory to MD Anderson Cancer Center.
