Douglas Paul Schoessow

June 7, 1967 – July 19, 2026

It is with a heavy heart that we announce the passing of Douglas Paul Schoessow of Sunny San Leon, Texas. He passed away in his home on July 19,2026.

Douglas was born June 7, 1967, to Steven and Ann Schoessow in Conroe, Texas.  He grew up in New Waverly, Texas, and later in Spring, Texas, where he raised cattle and picked greens for the local Hildebrandt farm while finishing school at Klein Oak High School.  He continued tending his herd while attending North Harris Community College, where he earned his associate's degree.

Douglas's favorite color was plaid flannel and as a farmer, he could always give an accurate weather forecast.  One of his favorite activities was playing basketball with his buddies or going fishing.  He loved watching sports and was a huge fan of the Astros.  Family time was usually spent playing Sheepshead, a traditional card game.  His love of card games was handed down from our family in Wisconsin. If there were cards, we were playing.  He also delivered for Ms. Baird's and worked as a computer tech for the college in Tomball, Texas, before selling his cows and retiring at a young age in San Leon.

Douglas is survived by his father, Steven Schoessow; his sister, Janna Buls (husband Barry Buls); his nephews Justin McNeill (wife Cindy Joy, and baby daughter Skylar Jane), Grant McNeill (wife Stormy), and Mason McNeill; along with many aunts, uncles, and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Samanthia Ann Kuehn Schoessow.

But those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength.  They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not faint.

To know Douglas was to know love and kindness. To his sister he was "Dougie Dougie."  To his nephews, he was" Uncle Dougie."  To his aunts, he was "Dougie Paul."

A service of remembrance will be held Sunday, July 26th, 1:00 p.m. at Klein Funeral Home in Tomball, Texas.  Visitation will begin at 12:00 p.m.  Burial will follow at Klein Memorial Park in Pinehurst, Texas.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made in Douglas's memory to Galveston County Food Bank, NAMI Texas (National Alliance on Mental Illness), or any other meaningful cause of your choosing.
