Douglas Duaine Potter
Douglas Duaine Potter was born on March 9th, 1938 in Oklahoma City to Walter Lanier and Clara Pearl Potter. Doug is a proud citizen of the Cherokee nation. He attended North East High School where he was a member of the football team. He later became a sergeant in the United States Army in March of 1960 where he was a paratrooper in the 101st Airborne. Doug married Elaine Potter in 1964 in Guymon, Oklahoma.
Doug and Elaine had two children, Vickie and Russell. Doug began his career in the oilfield in the panhandle of Texas, and throughout his career Doug and Elaine and their children lived in Brazil, Singapore, and Iran. After these endeavors they eventually made their home in Houston, Texas. "Papa" also dearly loved his grand children, Travis, Courtney, and Amanda, his grandson in law, Chris and his most recent addition to his family a great granddaughter Chatham Grace Rearick.
Douglas was well respected and loved by all.
