Obituary

Douglas Andersen Henry

Doug was born in Omaha, Nebraska on February 25, 1972 and suddenly left those who loved him to pass into the church eternal on January, 28th. He spent his younger years in Omaha, Nebraska and Calgary Canada. After a move to Shreveport, Louisiana, he graduated from Southfield School with many honors. Already a certified EMT, he then attained his paramedic credentials and continued doing what he loved through college at Shriners College in Kerrville, Texas. After that he attained certification as a critical care paramedic and served in that capacity and as a paramedic teacher and trainer for over twenty-nine years. He also worked as a safety consultant, and counselor for PTSD until illnesses ended his career. He was once awarded Paramedic of the Year for Harris County.

He leaves behind two beloved sons, Jerrett Henry, attending Texas Tech, and Mika Henry, residing in Kirbyville, Texas. His brother, Andrew Henry and wife Minnie Ann of New Orleans, with his parents, Gloria and Bill Henry, will all miss his smile and presence beyond measure. Also included are two uncles, Stephen Douglas and his wife Tirzah, Timothy Douglas and wife Debbie, plus numerous cousins. Doug was predeceased by his sister, Deanna Laurel Henry, grandparents, John and Sunny Henry and Joseph and Fern Douglas. He was loved by many, including his best friend and fiancé, Jen Anthony.

He continued helping others, which included dogs and cats in need, until his death.
