God gifted the world with the life of Douglas Newton Henderer on November 15th, 1957. The Father called Douglas home on August 16th, 2017. Douglas was born in Rapid City, SD -- the first-born child to parents Ronald and Wilma Henderer. He was a protector of and mentor to his two younger siblings, Russell and Kristi. Douglas was sealed by his baptism and later committed his life to the Lord in his confirmation at Peace Lutheran Church in Arvada, CO. Douglas and his grandfather, Louis, shared a gift and love for all things mechanical. Doug's innate woodworking and problem solving skills were nurtured and developed by his grandfather during the countless hours they spent together in Grandpa's basement tool shop. Doug graduated from Pomona High School in 1976.   He graduated from the University of Colorado with a B.S. in Mechanical  Engineering in 1980. It was here at the University, backdropped by the Flatiron Mountains of Boulder, CO, where Doug captured the heart of Debra Lynn. Doug and Debra, declaring their eternal covenant before God and family, were wed on April 6th, 1986 at Peace Lutheran Church in Arvada, CO.  In Westminster, CO, their home and hearts were filled as they rejoiced in the lives of their two children, Joseph Douglas and Rachel Lynn. His children lovingly refer to him as their "Farj" and "Datty". Doug's career as an environmental engineer was marked by integrity, commitment, and success.  He later completed  his Professional Engineering licensure and M.S. in Environmental Engineering.  In October 2013, Doug and Debra relocated to Magnolia, TX, where the strength and passion of  their marriage was mirrored by the surrounding lakefront and wildlife. Douglas most enjoyed spending time in his woodshop, playing cards, shooting guns, birding, walking the beaches of the Outer Banks of North Carolina,  drinking whiskey, and surrounding himself in the light and love of those he most cherished -- his family.

Douglas is survived by his devoted wife, Debra; his two beloved children, Joseph and Rachel; his parents, Ron and Wilma; his siblings, Russell and Kristi; and Debra's sister, Bonnie.
