Obituary

Douglas Clayton Gage, age 84, passed away on June 26, 2024, at Woodhaven Senior Living in Conroe, TX.  Born in Odessa, TX, Doug was the son of Fred and Leona Gage.  He attended Baylor University where he obtained his Bachelor's degree.  During college, he was set up on a blind date with the love of his life and future wife Frances Kennedy, (in which he describes the first thoughts upon seeing her as holy smokies!).  Soon after he graduated, he began a career at Texas Electric which moved him to Fort Worth and then Lamesa.  Ultimately, he chose to create stability for his family and settled in Odessa, Texas where he built a career with Gulf which ultimately became Chevron.  Doug made many lifelong friends and touched countless lives over the course of his career.  Eventually, Doug and Frances moved to Spring, TX, and then Magnolia TX where the family relocated, and he eventually retired.

Doug's true love was his family.  He lost his wife of 55 years in December 2018 but is survived by his son Baron Gage with daughter-in-law Laura Garza Gage, son Spencer Gage with daughter-in-law Amy Linden Gage, as well as his cherished grandchildren Clayton Gage (with wife Mindy, along with his great-grandson Grant), Emily Gage, Ryan Gage (with wife Lauren), Adel Gage, Trey Gage, and Elaina Gage.  He is also survived by sister Laura Ann Sealy Varn.

To celebrate the life of Doug, a memorial service will be held on Saturday, July 13, 2024, at 10 am, at Christ Church Methodist, located at 6363 Research Forest Dr, The Woodlands, TX 77381, with a reception following the service.
