Obituary

DOUGLAS RICHARD BOSTOCK

Doug was born on June 29, 1940 to George and Doris Bostock in Nutley, New Jersey. He passed peacefully on February 14, 2022 in Cypress, Texas.

Doug was the second born of four children. He spent most of his life in Houston, Texas. He was a proud Spring Branch Bear, graduating class of '58. Doug started working as a clerk for the Houston Police Department in 1959. In the summer of '61 he married the "love of his life" Mae. He started the police academy in November of 1961 and graduated in March of 1962. He went on to serve our city for 22 years, 8 months, and 14 days. Upon Doug's retirement from HPD he was an investigator for the Medical Examiner and District Attorney's offices.

Doug and Mae were blessed with two beautiful daughters, Candy and Trudi. They married and brought two son-in-laws into the family who Doug loved spending time with. Pops and Grandma are proud grandparents of five grandchildren and one precious great grandson. Doug loved fishing trips to Galveston, backyard barbeques, traveling with Mae and friends, and devoting hours volunteering with the Houston Police Retired Officers Association. He was known for never meeting a stranger and knowing someone EVERYWHERE he went.

Doug was preceded in death by his parents, George and Doris Bostock and his brothers George III and Burgess (Bucky).

Left to cherish his memory are his wife Mae, his daughters, Candy and Dale Genzer and Trudi and Jeff Conner. Doug also leaves behind grandchildren Jenna Conner, Caitlan and Rhett Gresham, Bryce Conner, Trevor and Kerri Genzer, and Carli Conner and Kevin Coomer; along with 1 great grandson, Kase Genzer. He leaves behind his beloved baby sister, Bette and William Uhl, sister-in-law, KayeVon Bostock, and brother-in-law, Orville and JoNell Glaesmann.

We would like to thank our family and friends for the special memories, support, and prayers throughout the years.

In lieu of flowers, please make donations in Doug's name to Messiah Lutheran Church or the Retired Houston Police Officer Association.
