Douglas Ledell Allee was born in Houston, Texas on October 14th, 1943. Doug is survived by his devoted and loving wife of 56 years, Linda Allee, son Daren Allee and wife Judy, daughter Kitrina Allee, grandchildren Wyatt Allee, Walker Allee and wife Sierra, and Whit Allee, and great granddaughter Emilia Rose Allee. Doug was the youngest of seven siblings. Surviving siblings are Donald Allee and wife Cathy, Henry Allee, sister MaryAnn Carpenter, and sisters-in-law Jane Allee and Donna Allee. Doug is also survived by many nieces and nephews and cousins.

Doug is preceded in death by his parents Claude L. and Jimmie V. Allee, and brothers Kenneth Allee, Claude "Jerry" Allee, and Jimmy Allee.

Doug was a caring, loving and supportive spouse, father, son, brother, friend, minister, teacher, song leader, singer, and on rare occasion, an Elvis impersonator. Doug's love for his family was unrelenting and inspired. He poured himself out fully in service and provision to his family and community. He and his devoted wife, Linda, cared for their parents and multiple family members. Doug worked hard. At the age of 12, Doug was sacking groceries at Jack's Supermarket to contribute to food and provision for his family. His life of service continued to the end. Doug had a passion for singing, even singing Hello Dolly in true Louis Armstrong style, to soothe the soul of a troubled man in the rehabilitation center while he himself was in a wheelchair recovering. He was not only passionate about spreading the Gospel but also spreading melody, cheer and humor. He served at the churches of Christ in Tennessee, Missouri, Arkansas and multiple congregations in Texas including Candlelight, Eastside, 249, Stafford, Burbank and Northwest. Doug was passionate about education. Doug received multiple degrees in Bible, and theology from Freed-Hardeman University and Harding University. Doug grew up in the church and served from an early age in multiple capacities and built a career and a life of service. He returned to his love of education to further his career in counseling and education and administration, finishing multiple degrees from Prairie View A&M and Texas Southern universities. Doug continued to work in the church of Christ in Houston while teaching language arts at Waltrip High school and Fondren Middle school.

Doug remained faithful and strong despite multiple challenges and devastating circumstances. His resilient spirit was steadfast to the very end. His strong mind and spirit to be in community with others got him up every day. Doug also loved nature and wildlife and all things Texas and outdoors. He was an avid reader of Louis L'Amour and history. Doug loved seeing the world on long road trips and taking in the small towns across this great country and the beauty of our national parks. Doug dreamed of more travels and adventures. While his adventure here has ended, we have peace knowing a new one has begun. His passion for spreading the gospel was one of hope and renewed life without pain. His steadfast anchor in God and Jesus echoed grace for all, a peace that surpasses understanding, and life beyond the limits of this world. And, now Doug has moved beyond those limits. Hallelujah.
