Dorothy Williams was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend. Sadly, she left
this world on July 15, 2023, at age 83, joining her Lord in heaven and reuniting with her husband who
preceded her a little more than a year ago.

Dorothy was born in Tyler, Texas on October 14, 1939, to Lonnie and Vera Kennedy. She was the youngest
of five siblings, born into a loving family who, like the rest of the world, was struggling economically.
With only the bare necessities to their name, the family learned to lean on one another and rely on God's
love. This helped shape Dorothy for the remainder of her days.

Dorothy spent her youth in Tyler, Texas, graduating from John Tyler High School and then attending Tyler
Junior College. Despite the small town, she still had some exciting experiences, such as having coffee with
Elvis Presley early in his career. However, the event that most impacted her life occurred in the parking
lot of Tyler Junior College. It was there that she met Donald Williams, who would soon become her
husband for over sixty years.

After Dorothy married Don, the two moved to Arlington, Texas and started to make a life of their own.
Early on, she gave birth to Dwayne Williams and later, gave birth to Dana Williams. Several years later,
Dorothy began to work as a librarian for an elementary school and found that she loved working closely
with children. She also served as a children's minister at a large Baptist Church in Arlington.

After working closely with children, Dorothy found that she wanted to become a teacher. Previously,
Dorothy did not finish college, which prevented her from following this dream. Instead of giving up,
Dorothy went back to college and finished her degree, all the time working full time and raising two young
boys. Not only did she complete her degree, but she graduated with honors. She immediately started
working as a teacher and eventually went to graduate school to earn her master's degree, which she
completed, also with honors.

Despite moving numerous times due to Don's work, Dorothy managed to serve as a steadfast pillar of
strength and stability for her family and friends. However, she never accepted recognition, instead she
always credited God as the source of her stability. Dorothy's incredible faith never waned, even in her final
days. Following the example set by Jesus, Dorothy's love for others further characterized her, as she
constantly placed the needs of family and friends above her own. Dorothy was truly a child of God and
lived a life that exemplified this every day. She will be sorely missed.

A memorial service is scheduled for 11:00 a.m. on July 22, at the Klein Campus of Spring Baptist Church
on Bridgestone Lane in Spring. The family requests that no flowers be sent. In the alternative, please make
