Dorothy Nina Ranno August 10, 1929 - August 27, 2023

Dorothy (Giga) Ranno, born on August 10, 1929, peacefully passed away on August 27, 2023 at the age of 94. She was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, aunt, and friend, whose presence touched the lives of many.

Giga grew up in Framingham, Massachusetts, and graduated from Framingham High School in 1947. She married Domenic J. Ranno, together raising their daughter in Framingham surrounded by friends and family. After years of running a successful hairdressing business, she retired and relocated to Klein, Texas to spend time with her family in the warm Texas weather. Her vibrant personality was evident in everything she did, from cooking, crocheting, watching action movies, playing cards and bingo to simply taking the time to listen. She always knew how to make you feel special.

Giga's legacy lives on through her daughter, Jane Cole, son-in-law, Carl Cole, granddaughter, Leslie Kompelien and husband Nat Kompelien, great-grandchildren, Westin and Bailey Kompelien, granddaughter,  Alison Ernst and husband Jeremia Ernst, great-grandchildren, Jeremia (JD) Ernst Jr. and Lilly Ernst, and many nieces and nephews. Additionally, Giga had the pleasure of being an "adopted" grandmother and great-grandmother to many.

In this time of remembrance, we find solace in the belief that Dottie is reunited with those who have gone before her, husband Domenic J. Ranno, sister, Laura Tomasetti, and brother, Gregory M. Fistetto.

Giga's biggest love in this life was children.  In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to St Jude.  A memorial donation to St. Jude is a gift that will help fund cancer research and treatments for children and their families affected by childhood cancer.
