Dorothy Rose McWhirter, 87, of Port O'Conner, Texas, passed away November 12th, 2024.  Dorothy was born September 28th, 1937, in Gonzales, Texas to the late William C. Hoerig and Leonita (Zimmermann) Hoerig.

Dorothy was raised in Midway outside of Shiner, Texas and graduated from Shiner High School.  She moved to Houston where she was a switchboard operator.  During this time, she met Brian who was the love of her life.  They got married on March 5, 1960 and were married for 47 years. They lived in Tomball where they raised their children, Barry and Janna.  Dorothy was the office manager at her husband's Chiropractic office in Spring, Texas.  She was a wonderful person who loved and enjoyed her family and friends. She loved taking care of her plants, reading, and listening to music as well as the beach, boat rides, and fishing. She was an awesome cook and made sure nobody left hungry.

Dorothy is survived by her children, son, Barry Lynn McWhirter, daughter Janna Rose Arellano and son in law, Jason Thomas Arellano; granddaughters, Ella Rose Arellano, Emerson Len Arellano, Evie Anne Arellano.  She is also survived by dear brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law and many friends.

Dorothy was preceded in death by her parents, loving husband, Dr. Brian McWhirter, and brother, Carlton Hoerig.

The family will receive visitors Friday, November 22nd, 2024, from 1 PM to 2 PM at Klein Funeral Home, 1400 West Main Street.  Funeral Services will be held immediately following at 2 PM with REV. Winslow officiating.  Interment to follow in Klein Memorial Park 2920.
