Dorothy Mae Schobel Hazel went to be with our Savior on May 21, 2016.

Dorothy was born November 1 st , 1923 to Hugo and Julia Schobel in Columbus, Texas. Just out of high school, she moved to Houston to attend Beauty College. And on a blind date, she met Elton Hazel. And when he returned from his service in WWII as a fighter pilot in the European Theater, they continued their relationship. They were married on June 29 th , 1946 and settled in Houston to start their lives and family together.

Dorothy was an active member of the American Kennel Club, a founding member of the Bluebonnet Boxer Club and an AKC licensed Judge for multiple breeds. She started her interest in dogs and dog showing by obedience training and showing Boxers. For many years, she conducted obedience classes and was active in the Houston Obedience Training Dog Club. She was proud of the many champion Boxers and Miniature Pinschers she bred and showed.

Dorothy is survived her daughters Dorothy Arnold, Tish Davis and husband Brian and daughter-in-law Carol Hazel. Her much loved grandsons Hub Arnold and wife Julee, Chase Davis and wife Acacia, Thomas E. Hazel, Mike Richards and wife Eun Kyoung, and Adam Richards and wife Alexandra. She was blessed with three great grandsons Caleb Davis, Blaine Davis and one on the way. And by numerous caregivers, our special angels, who cared for Dorothy and Elton over the last few years.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Elton Hazel and son, Thomas Ray Hazel.
