Obituary

Dorothy Clare Boyett, 90, of Montgomery, TX, passed away peacefully on October 02, 2022.  She was born on January 10, 1932 in Waco, TX to Edmund William Hunke and Clare Lucille Holding Hunke, the third of 6 children.

Dorothy devoted her life to her marriage of nearly 70 years to Fred R. Boyett, and to raising their 5 children: Lance, Mark, Sherrie, Bruce and Carl.  Raising her family meant following her husband's 35 year government career through many state-to-state moves over the years.  Her unceasing love and faithfulness helped their children adapt to the many life challenges of so many moves.

Her loving, sacrificial support for her husband and children seemed limitless.  Whether supporting Fred's rise to prominence (hosting parties, christening a new Customs vessel), or helping her children succeed (cheering them to victory in school sporting events, feeding hungry mouths, tending to injuries or helping with homework assignments), she was always there for all of us.  Faith in God, love of family and country, character and personal integrity were guideposts in her life. She lovingly poured those values into her children, perhaps her greatest legacy.

Dorothy loved reading, crossword puzzles, gardening, crafting, painting and sharing her time and love of life with family and friends.

She is survived by 4 of her children, 14 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.  She is also survived by 3 siblings, many in-laws and extended family members.

Dorothy's life was full and well-lived, and her proud family is filled with joyous memories.  We will miss her greatly but rejoice knowing she is rejoining her beloved husband and their youngest son Carl in heaven, and she will walk with our Lord in perfect health, peace and love forever.
