Dorothy Tribble Best, fondly known as Dot, passed away peacefully April 5, 2017.
Dot was born in Charlotte, North Carolina on October 20, 1931 to Mae and Robert Tribble. She attended Central High School in Charlotte and later went on to earn her degree from The Woman's College at The University of North Carolina. Prior to marrying her best friend, Ed, Dot taught typing and business in Charlotte.
Dot had a love of flowers, cooking and entertaining her many friends throughout the years. To all those who knew and loved Dot, her smile, sense of humor and devotion to family and friends leaves a footprint that will live in our hearts forever.
Dot was preceded in death by Ed, her beloved husband of 56 years.
She is survived by her daughters, Dee Niskanen (Steve) of The Woodlands and Jenni Woolf (Ken) of Michigan and her four grandchildren: Jonathan, Katie, Alex and Emily.
The family would like to thank the caregivers and staff of The Solana Vintage Park for the love and care they showed Dot and her family while she resided there. The family would also like to express their sincere gratitude and thanks to Grace Hospice of Texas, and especially Tina Ortiz Lucas and Michelle Denman for their love and dedication to her in her final months.
A memorial service honoring Dot will be held at 1:30 PM on Wednesday, April 12, 2017 at Northwoods Presbyterian Church, 3320 Cypress Creek Parkway, Houston, TX 77068. The family will be receiving friends at a reception immediately following the service and then later at the home of her daughter.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in honor of Dot to the Alzheimer's Association or Grace Hospice of Texas, 2325 Timber Shadow Drive #B, Kingwood, Texas 77339.
