Dorothy Jane Ayo, age 90, passed away Saturday, April 13, 2019 in Palestine, TX.
Dorothy is preceded in death by her husband, Allan, her son, Michael Wayne Ayo, Sr. and parents Wayne and Elnora Wylie, and sister Patsy.
Survivors include her sons, Allan M. Ayo Jr., Edward L. Ayo II; daughter-in-law: Carol Ayo; grandchildren: Allan M. Ayo, III, Dina Ayo, Michael W. Ayo Jr., Angela Ayo, Andrew M. Ayo and Adam Ayo in addition to 7 great grandchildren and 3 great-great grandchildren.
Dorothy worked 40+ years with Sears Roebuck and was one of the company's first female regional executives. She accomplished this with only the beginnings of a High school education.
A world class bowler in her "spare" time, she was the first lady to win State Championships 5 decades apart!
Singing throughout her life, from youth chorus, to USO, to finally, weekly Karaoke at the local VFW chapter. Her favorite song to sing was "Don't Worry about Me" by Marty Robbins
Above all of this, Dorothy was a dedicated daughter, loving and loyal wife and most proudly, a mother of 3 sons. Her love knew no boundaries and her class and wisdom will never be forgotten.
