Doris Williams Rhame, 88, of Spring, Texas, peacefully passed away in her home on Wednesday, September 6, after several years with Alzheimer's disease.
Born to Ray and Lois Williams in Alice, Texas, on December 19, 1928, she grew up in Benavides where she met the love of her life, Felix Rhame. Together they forged a lifetime journey living in Kelsey Bass, Refugio, Corpus Christi, Alaska, and Houston.
Doris enjoyed giving her time and gifts serving others. For over 50 years she ministered to children, single adults, and senior adults in their churches. Working together, she and Felix began single adult ministries in Anchorage, Alaska, and Houston. They had the joy of leading groups of senior adults on trips throughout Texas, the United States, and to countries around the world.
Doris' work ethic and tireless attention to detail was always evident from her first accounting job at a department store in Alice, Texas, to accounts payable specialist for Alyeska Pipeline and Exxon. In her spare time, she loved planning, decorating, and catering weddings.
Doris was preceded in death by her parents; her brothers Doyle (Sonny), Bryan, Gene, and Marvin (Babe) Williams.
She is survived by her loving husband of 69 years, Felix Rhame; daughter, Brenda (Gary) Hauk; son, Bill (Bobbie) Rhame; and daughter Linda (David) Jackson; sister, Ida Mae (Jimmy) Haley; grandchildren, Jennifer (Jeff) Dial, Benny (Andi) Hauk, Dori (Rich) Gorman; Justin (Kristin) Rhame, Ashley (Dax) Little, Christopher (Monica) Jackson, Matthew Jackson, Amy (Ryan) Nickell; and 19 great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be held Sunday, September 10, from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Klein Funeral Home, 1400 W. Main, Tomball.
On Monday, September 11, visitation will be held at Champion Forest Baptist Church, 15555 Stuebner Airline Road, Houston, TX, from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. A funeral service will follow at 11:00 a.m. Interment will take place at Klein Memorial Park, 9714 FM 2920, Tomball, TX.
