Doris Laverne Mendel, 71, of Spring, Tx went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, April 24, 2018.  Doris was born October 16, 1946, in Houston, TX to Emil and Leona Benfer.  Doris is a 1965 graduate of Spring High School.  She went on to work at Sun Oil Co. before enjoying retirement with her husband, George.  She loved baking, gardening, walking with her friends, and spending time with her entire family.  She was an active member of Christ the Good Shepherd Catholic Church where she was a greeter, Eucharistic minister, and served others during their time of loss.  Doris is preceded in death by her parents Emil and Leona Benfer.  She is survived by her husband of 48 years, George Mendel; her son, Steven, and his wife, Shelly; granddaughters, Sydney, Kenzie, and Chelsea; sisters and brothers-in-laws; cousins, and numerous nieces and nephews.

Services will include:

Visitation and vigil on Thursday, April 26 at Klein Funeral Home (16131 Champions Forest Drive, Spring TX) from 6-8 pm.

The funeral will be held on Friday, April 27 at Christ the Good Shepherd Catholic Church, 18511 Klein Church Rd, Spring, TX at 11 am.
