Doris Lorene Hildebrandt to be with her Lord and Savior on February 24, 2026.

She was born on August 27, 1927 to Ernest and Ella (Wunderlich) Strack and was baptized and later confirmed at Trinity Lutheran church.

Her early school years were spent at Trinity Lutheran Elementary School.

During her high school years, Doris was named first chair clarinet in the Klein High School Band and even had her own "swing band".  She graduated as Salutatorian and was offered a music scholarship to Sam Houston University.

Doris married in 1946, and shortly thereafter moved to the Rio Grande Valley.

As a farmer's wife, she took great pleasure in watching her family and crops grow.   While in the valley, serving in the church was a top priority to her.

After moving back to Spring in 1976, Doris worked at her brothers' restaurant.  In time, she performed the duties of Purchasing Agent and Catering Manager-although most people remember her for her homemade pastries on the Sunday buffet at Strack's!

Doris has witnessed to so many people about the love of Christ and His sacrifice for her-and all of us.  The family she leaves behind has been blessed to have her as a godly mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.  She will be missed by friends, relatives, caregivers, church members and more because of her endearing demeanor, humor, selfless giving, and gentle/kind nature.

Doris is preceded in death by her parents, her sister Virginia Hildebrandt and her brother, Ernest Strack, Jr.  She is survived by her three children, Jan Morrow (Mark), Marsha McComb (Rick), and Kevin Hildebrandt (Suzanne).  Grandchildren include Allison Anderson (Allen), Ashley Swoope (Dylan) and Erin Turner (Daniel).  Great grandchildren are Charlotte, Shannon and Rebecca Anderson; Ava and Lydia Swoope; and Ella Turner.
