Doris Lynn Bell Bazard – died April 25, 2017 in Spring, Texas. Doris was born in Mangham, Louisiana and grew up in Vicksburg, Mississippi. Her parents were William Thomas Bell Jr and Jessie Lynn Bell. Following graduation from Louisiana Tech University, she moved to Houston to start her career in Business Administration. In Houston, she met and married W. Scott Bazard Jr. She lovingly supported Scott through his military service and through his career with Shell Chemical. She gave birth to two sons, Alan Bazard and Greg Bazard. After multiple moves with Shell Chemical, the family settled in Houston in 1974 in the Champions Community where they were long time members of Champions Golf Club. Doris was highly devoted to her family and enjoyed the years together in travel, friends, volunteering her time in charitable organizations and community activities, most recently with Northwoods Presbyterian Church and the P.E.O. Society.
Following the death of her husband Scott, she moved to the Villiage at Gleannloch Farms (Spring, TX) in Independent Living. She continued to enjoy the company of her Gleannloch friends and volunteering with P.E.O.
Doris is predeceased by her parents and husband. She is survived by sons, Alan Bazard and wife Melani, Greg Bazard and wife Linda. Four Grandchildren – Lauren Leblanc and husband Dale, Austin Bazard and wife Megan, Jennifer Bazard, and Morgan Bazard. Two Great Grandchildren – Aiden Leblanc and McKinley Leblanc. Two brothers – William Thomas Bell III and wife Vivian, Roeland T. Bell and wife Carmine. Numerous nieces and nephews, cousins and special friends.
A Memorial Service for Doris will be held at Northwoods Presbyterian Church (3320 Cypress Creek Parkway, Houston, TX) on May 5, 2017 at 2:00 pm.
In lieu of usual remembrances, contributions may be directed to Northwoods Presbyterian Church, 3320 Cypress Creek Parkway, Houston, TX 77068.
