Doretta Ruth Meyer of Magnolia, TX passed away September 1, 2017 at the age of 78 years.  She was born May 1, 1939  in Watertown, WI. Doretta was baptized on May 25,1939 and confirmed May 24, 1953.  Doretta attended Dr. Martin Luther College in New Ulm, MN and graduated in 1960.  She received a Divine Call to teach at Gethsemane Lutheran School in Los Angles, CA serving for one year. She was married to Bob Meyer in 1961. Both she and Bob taught at St. Paul's Lutheran School in Norfolk, NE. Shortly after the birth of her first child the family moved to Menomonee Falls, WI where she focused on raising her three children. In 1982 she moved to Texas where she began working as a health nutritionist.

Doretta is survived by her husband Bob Meyer; children Jeff and wife Ingrid, Laurie and husband Jim Zander, Greg and wife Shanna; grandchildren Ryan, Katerina, Jennifer, Ashley, Nicole, Maycie, Summer, and Taylor; Sister-in-law Barb Engel, and several nieces and nephews.

Doretta was preceded in death by her parents, Rev. Otto and Dorothy Engel, sister Karen Engel, and brother Willard Engel.

Visitation will be at Klein Funeral Home on Tuesday September 5th at 14711 FM 1488, Magnolia, TX  from 5:00 to 8:00 PM.  Funeral services will take place 5:00 PM September 6th at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church,  9191 Cochran's Crossing Drive, The Woodlands, TX.  Reception following the service in the fellowship hall at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church.  Internment will be at Klein Memorial Park 9:00 AM September 7th at 14711 FM 1488, Magnolia TX.
