Donna Rae Piggott Schaefer, 81, of Spring, TX passed away on Wednesday, September 6, 2023. She was born on May 10, 1942, in Port Arthur, TX to the late William and Patrina Piggott.

Those left to cherish her memories are her children, Tonya Kay Schaefer Upton and David Tomas Schaefer; grandchildren, Kathrine Elizabeth Upton, Emma Riane Upton Bailey, Owynn Matthew Schaefer and Lavan Nicholas Schaefer; great-grandchildren, Louise Olivia Bailey and Silas Othello Bailey; son in law, Russell G. Upton and grandson in law, Joseph B. Bailey. She also loved and appreciated her nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by both her parents; two brothers, two sisters, and her loving husband Donald Theodore Schaefer; with whom she enjoyed bird watching and occasionally flying kites.

Donna was an intelligent, compassionate, and caring woman. She loved all creatures, both two and four legged.  She received her Radiology Technician's license after graduating high school and worked for most of her career in the University of Texas Health Science Center Houston, Hermann Hospital and MD Anderson Hospital as a radiology technician and MRI Technician.  She retired from MD Anderson in 2005.

A Celebration of life will be held 10AM, Saturday October 14, 2023 at Living Word Lutheran Church, 9500 North Panther Creek, The Woodlands, Texas, 77381.  The family requests donations to the Herman Schaefer Scholarship Fund in lieu of flowers.
