Obituary

Donna Marie Lowe passed away in Spring, Texas on Friday, March 23rd at the age of 68.

Donna is survived by her mother, Jean Sergeant of Tomball, Texas; husband, Doug Lowe of Tomball, Texas; daughter, April Watson of Tomball, Texas; son, Austin Lowe of San Jose, California; brother, Rick Sergeant of Lexington, Kentucky; grandson, Grant Watson of Tomball, Texas; granddaughter, Cassie Mckenna of Santa Cruz, California; son-in-law, Scott Watson of Tomball, Texas; sister-in-law, Dianna Sergeant of Lexington, Kentucky; niece, Stacy Middleton of Lexington, Kentucky; and niece Kristen Sergeant of Lexington, Kentucky.

Donna was born on March 18th, 1950 in Detroit, Michigan to Roger and Jean Sergeant. She graduated from Eastern Kentucky University with a teaching degree and a masters from the University of Louisville in special education. She married Doug in 1971 after meeting in college on a blind date. After moving to Louisville, Kentucky, Donna began her career as a special education teacher. Shortly thereafter, they welcomed their first child, April, into their lives and cared for her with the same patience that she demonstrated with her students.  Later in life, they welcomed a second child, Austin, with whom they spent many afternoons on the baseball field.  Donna retired from Oak Grove School District in California after teaching for 43 years and continued to volunteer after retirement at Willow Creek Elementary in Tomball.  She had a group of close friends in the teaching community that were inseparable.

Donna loved learning new things and was always signing up for courses to broaden her knowledge.   She was passionate about cycling and spending time with her grandson.  She attended every sporting and school event to support him.  Donna was a dedicated volunteer at the Abandoned Animal Rescue 'AAR' of Tomball because of her love for animals.

Anyone who knew Donna loved her.  She was loving, kind, selfless, witty, accomplished, smart, caring, and patient.

A memorial is scheduled for her on Thursday, March 29th at 10 am in the chapel of the Champions Forest Baptist Church 15555 Stuebner-Airline Rd. All are welcome to attend and celebrate Donna's life. In lieu of flowers, please send donations to Abandoned Animal Rescue at AARTexas.org. The family would like to thank the Northwest Cycling Club Community for their support.
