"Donna Nell Hurst, age 76, of Conroe, Texas went to be with Jesus on Friday, April 12, 2024. Donna was born on May 3, 1947 in Sherman, Texas and was the prized only daughter of Don and Johnnie Ferguson.

In 1965, She graduated from South Houston High School with honors. Soon after, she started her nursing degree at Lilly Jolly School of Nursing, until she met the love of her life, Joel Lee Hurst in 1966. Donna was a loving wife to Joel for 57 years. They made their home in the Houston area, planting roots in their Northwest Houston church community.

Four years into their marriage, they started a family with their first born daughter, Tiffany. Followed by their three sons, Jody, Dustin and Tanner. Donna was a gentle and caring mother, abundantly delighting in her four beloved children.

The Hursts celebrated life at the best restaurants in Houston and were fond of traveling all across the country. From the heavenly shores of Hawaii, to the indulgent streets of Magic Kingdom, the Hursts knew just how to enjoy this life in the most bonding and beautiful ways. Their love for each other is deeply influential to those around them, and Donna stewarded this profound familial love as wife and mother.

Though many years of Donna's life were mainly spent in abundant and generous blessing, the Lord was willing to let it storm. Through seasons of immense grief and separation, Donna always held on to her Heavenly Father, and this was the mightiest feature of her life. As gentle and meek as she may have seemed, she will be remembered for her ardently unbreakable faith, like an ancient rock in the ocean—no wave could erode her love for God.

Donna was preceded in death by her mother, Johnnie, and father, Don, and her youngest son, Tanner Wayne Hurst. She is survived by her cherished husband, Joel; her children Tiffany Kilgore (Curtis), Jody Hurst (Cara) and Dustin Hurst (Kali). She was the matronly grandmother to eight grandchildren; Baylee Kilgore, Brody Kilgore, Trace Hurst, Grant Hurst, Jaeger Hurst, Jake Hurst, Gentry Hurst and Lawson Hurst. Her family mourns her worldly death, but celebrates her eternal union with her Father in Heaven."
