Donna Gail Credille Anderson was born in Dallas, Texas on September 28, 1942, and peacefully passed away in Tomball, Texas on February 28, 2023. She is preceded in death by her husband of 43 ½ years, James Lofton Anderson, and her parents, James Rosser Credille, Jr. and Edna Earl Cozby Credille. Donna is survived by her son, Bradley Randall Anderson; her brother, James Rosser Credille, III and his wife Tanna; many loving cousins and family members from both sides of her marriage; and dear friends who she loved.

Throughout her life, Donna had a true commitment to helping others that gave her great joy. After graduating in 1960 from Bryan Adams High School in Dallas where she was a member of the BA Belles for 3 years, Donna entered North Texas State University in Denton, Texas. There she performed at sporting events and other school functions with the Green Jacket spirit group, and pledged Delta Gamma sorority, which would lead to a lifetime of wonderful memories serving in leadership positions and participating in events through the organization which assisted the visually impaired in the Houston area. Whether it involved working tirelessly with other DG members for many years with the Great Houston Duck Race in Buffalo Bayou or helping blind and low-vision individuals develop a passion for the sport of baseball through Beep Baseball or helping administer vision tests for young children, Donna was always ready to make a positive difference in the lives of others.

Upon receiving her bachelor's degree from NTSU, she decided to become a high school English teacher and taught at Sam Houston High School in Arlington, Texas. High praise from her students and fellow teachers and staff followed her for the entirety of the seven years she spent there. During this time she met the love of her life, Jim (Sonny) Anderson, and after marrying him in 1970 and having her only child Brad a couple of years later, she devoted herself to her family for the rest of her life. Her desire to remain involved in the school system led her to become PTA President at Atherton Elementary for 2 years and she was directly involved with the planning of school fundraisers such as the annual Winter Carnivals.

She was raised in the Christian faith and attended both First United Methodist Church of Arlington and Lakewood Methodist Church in Houston, where she volunteered with Rebecca Circle. The hobbies she enjoyed during her life were numerous . . Hunter's Valley Book Club, Bridge with her close friends, Travel to destinations all over the world, and cheering on the Dallas Cowboys as a season ticketholder. Animals had a special place in her heart . . and her love for Bear, a feisty black Manx cat, knew no bounds. Donna had a creative spirit about her . . . she enjoyed taking painting classes and loved to sketch in art books. Everywhere she lived, whether Dallas or Arlington or later, Houston, she easily made friends and will be deeply missed.

She will be laid to rest at 10am on Monday, March 6, 2023 in Klein Memorial Park, 32539 SH249, Pinehurst, Tx 77362. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Donna's honor to Houston Delta Gamma Foundation, P.O. Box 130871, Houston, TX 77219-0871 or a charity of your choice.
