Donald P. Viator, 79 of Hockley, Texas passed away September 29, 2019 in Cypress, Texas.  He was born February 26, 1940 in Beaumont, Texas.  Growing up in Beaumont, Don had a lifelong love affair with baseball.  It started with the launching of the very first Pee Wee League in Beaumont. He was pitcher and his twin brother, Ron, was catcher.  While attending South Park High School during his junior year, he was offered to pitch and play professional baseball for the Detroit Tigers.   After graduating in 1958, he attended Lamar University in Beaumont and the University of Houston.  In the early 60's, Don worked at ACF Industries/WKM in Missouri City.  Later he was employed at TXT/National Oilwell Varco in Houston, Texas, where he became Facilities Manager and eventually retired in 2006.

His was passionate about baseball, duck hunting, fishing, deer hunting, and water skiing.  Don loved his family and was a proud Papaw.  He got a kick out of watching his grandchildren play sports, coaching Little League baseball, and watching Aggie football, horse racing, and old Westerns.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Percy Joseph Viator and Jessie Josephine (Ward) Viator, brother Eugene Viator, and nephew, Alvin Ray Viator. He leaves behind his loving wife of 56 ½ years Carolyn Sue Viator, his daughter Donna Hull and husband Allen, daughter Carol Lynn Hardy and husband Ron, brother Alvin Viator and wife Nadine, twin brother Ronald Viator, grandchildren De Ana Johnson-Hull, Tyler Hull, Chandler Hull, Cayden Hardy, Calysta Hardy, great grandchildren Matthew Johnson, Abigail Johnson, Camdyn George, and numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews.

A time of Visitation will be held from 5 to 8 pm on Friday, October 4, 2019 at the Klein Funeral Home in Tomball, 1400 W. Main, Tomball, Texas 77375.  Funeral services will be held at 2 pm on Saturday, October 5, 2019 at the Klein Memorial Park Mausoleum Chapel at 9714 FM 2920, Tomball, Texas 77375.  Burial will follow immediately at the Klein Memorial Park.
