Donald "Greg" Storch  of Magnolia, Texas passed away on October 17th at the age of 74. Greg was born on March 6, 1949 as the oldest of three boys to Donald and Mary Sue Storch in Port Arthur, Texas. Greg graduated from Stephen F. Austin University with a Bachelor's degree.

After serving for a time as the President of Houston Firefighters Credit Union, Greg became the President of US Employees Credit Union in 1983, and strove to make his organization proud for more than three decades. During those years at the credit union, he also served as a director for the Texas Credit Union League and the Houston Chapter of Credit Unions. He was a founding member of the Credit Union Acceptance Company and the Credit Union Alliance and a member of the Texas Credit Union Commission. Greg was also a featured lecturer at Houston Community College. Greg retired in 2014 to spend more time with his horses, dogs, and his beloved wife Elaine.

Elaine and Greg met at Stephen F. Austin University at Greg's birthday party. He and Elaine would fondly recount the story of that meeting and his promise to "put a sparkle in those big, brown eyes." It was a promise he would work to fulfill every day of their married life. The two had three children over the course of their marriage, Donald "Andy" Alexander, Robert "Ben" Benjamin, and Jennifer "Jenny" Elise. Greg loved his children, volunteering to coach Jenny's little league teams, working to help organize school fundraisers for his son's VICA group, and spending his weekends learning to ride and train horses together as a family.

In addition to his work at the credit union, Greg and his family spent many years participating in the Montgomery County Search and Rescue organization. Greg led his 'horse team' on several searches for people lost in the woods, working through dark nights and rainy days. He helped organize fundraisers for MOSCAR and was a founding member of the BBQ Competition Team. Greg was also active in local politics, donating his time and energy to support many candidates over the years.

Greg was an avid hunter, who enjoyed little more than spending time at the deer lease with his son, Ben, and his friends, telling stories around the campfire. He didn't always bag a deer, but he always valued his time in the woods.

After his retirement, Greg spent his time supporting his wife and daughter during their battles with cancer, even learning to text so that he could check in on Jenny daily during her treatment. He tended his horses and adopted every stray dog that crossed his path. He particularly enjoyed having a morning cup of coffee with his good friend, Earl Grey.

Greg was predeceased by his wife, Elaine, and his oldest son, Andy. He is survived by his son Ben and daughter-in-law, Erica Storch,  daughter Jenny and son-in-law Jeff McMorris, and four grandchildren Charles, James, Noelle, and Abigail McMorris. He is also survived by his two younger brothers, Michael and Bert Storch.

Visitation will be held at Klein Funeral Homes at 14711 FM 1488, Magnolia, Texas on October 24th from 5-8pm.
