Donald Ray Spell was born in Tomball, Texas on August 19, 1939, and passed away peacefully in his sleep in Humble, Texas on May 18, 2021.

Don led an active life, and enjoyed hunting, fishing, and playing golf. He was also a founding member of the Sigma Chi fraternity at Sam Houston State University, where he received his degree. Donald was an United States Army Veteran, serving in West Germany. He taught agricultural courses for 30 years at Klein High School, earning him the nickname Doc. He will be remembered for his dedication to his students and his love of teaching.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Raymond D. and Laura Theo Spell.

Donald is survived by his son, Joseph D. Spell and daughter-in-law, Holly Spell; granddaughter, Rosalie Rae Spell; sisters, Annelia Williams, and Jo Neal; and nieces and nephews, Stephen Williams, Sarah Williams, Jill Assir, Todd Sanders, and Amber MacWilliam.

A visitation will be held from 5-8pm on Sunday, May 23, 2021 at Klein Funeral Home, 1400 W. Main, Tomball, TX 77375.  Don will be laid to rest at a graveside service at 10am on Monday, May 24, 2021 at Earthman Resthaven Cemetery in Houston, TX.  The family requests that masks be worn and social distance guidelines be followed by all those in attendance.
