Donald R. Schlotterbeck passed away on Monday, November 11, 2019. He was born on January 23, 1932 in Queens, NY to Maria and Albert Schlotterbeck, Don also had a brother, Walter Schlotterbeck. Don is survived by his daughter Nancy, husband Mike and his three grandsons Christopher and wife Chelsea, Ryan and wife Aimee and Mark and fiancé Gabby. To the grandsons he will forever be remembered as "Ba", their loving grandfather and expert engineer.
Don graduated from Brooklyn Technical HS in 1949. Don then attended Columbia University where he graduated with honors in Chemical Engineering in 1953. Don married the love of his life, Marion, on January 23, 1955. Don joined what would later become Exxon Mobil after graduating from Columbia. Don and Marion lived in Essex County, New Jersey. Don started as a chemical engineer at the Bayway plant and then worked in the NY corporate office. In 1971 Don and Marion made the big move from NY/NJ to Houston, Texas where they lived in the Huntwick subdivision. In 2008 they made the transition to the Village at Gleannloch Farms as a founding members. They both loved Gleannloch with Don serving on the Residents board and starting the wine club. Don will be remembered for his love of friends, good food, fine wine and always willing to lend his engineering talents to anyone in the village. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society or Kinsmen Lutheran Church.
