Donald "Don" Roger Peymann, 80, went to his heavenly home on Monday, March 2, 2020 at Memorial Hermann Katy Hospital with family by his side. Don was born July 18, 1939 in Fairmont, MN to the late August Peymann and Lula (Dorendorf). He entered the Army in 1960 and served as a Chaplain's Assistant at Fort Polk, Leesville, LA. Here he met his wife of 57 years, Geneva (Kilian). It was also in the military that he developed his passion for the ministry and his daughter Pam was born. He left the military in 1964 and attended Concordia Seminary in Springfield, IL where he received his Bachelor of Theology degree in 1969. He served as an intern at Immanuel Lutheran in Springfield, IL, where his daughter Patti was born. He was installed on February 1, 1970 as Senior Pastor at Our Redeemer Lutheran Church in Wichita Falls, TX, the birthplace of his third daughter, Paula. The family then moved to Houston and he was installed as Senior Pastor at Pilgrim Lutheran Church on April 27, 1975 and served this congregation the majority of his career. He founded and developed Apple of His Eye, Texas in 1997 and ended his career as a visitation pastor at Resurrection Lutheran Church in Spring, TX. He enjoyed traveling, taking photos and camping with his family. He spent hours riding his bike and participated in several Texas MS 150 cycling events. He is survived and dearly missed by his wife, Geneva and daughters, Pam (Peymann) Moritz and her husband Chris and their daughters Alexa and Brianna, Patti (Peymann) Romeril and her husband Heath and his children Molly and Jacob, Paula (Peymann) Mendiola and her husband James. He also leaves behind a brother William "Bill" Peyman, his wife Joyce, their three sons and their families. Don's family would like to express their gratitude to Memorial Hermann Katy Hospital and A*Med Community Hospice for their care and compassion in his final days. Don's family would also like to thank countless family and friends for their acts of kindness and support during his battle with Parkinson's. A memorial service to celebrate his life of service to his Lord & Savior will be held at Pilgrim Lutheran Church 8601 Chimney Rock Rd, Houston TX 77096 on Friday, March 20, 2020 at 1pm. A light reception will be held in Pilgrim's parish hall immediately after the service.
