It is with great sadness that the family of Donald Lix announces his passing on Monday, 20 October 2025, at the age of 84 at his home in Tomball, Texas.   He was surrounded by his family at the time of passing.

Donald will be lovingly remembered by his wife, Brigitte, of 61 years and his sons, Eric Lix, James Lix and Edward Helmecke and his daughter Karin (Breck) Ruppelius.   He will also be missed by his grandchildren, Zachary Lix, Makayla Ruppelius, Ashlynn (Austin) Hamm and their children, Ava and Weston, and Megan Lix.  He will also be missed by his surviving siblings: Tom Lix, Marvin (Susan) Lix, Cathy (Perry) Barnes and numerous cousins, nephews and nieces.

He was born in Wellington, Kansas on 14 April 1941 to Cletus and Genevieve (Stegman) Lix.  He grew up in Dodge City, Kansas.  He sent 20 years in the Air Force working in the medical field.   He and his family lived in various places to include Spain and Germany.  After a distinguished career in the Air Force, Donald moved his family to Houston, Texas, to continue working in the medical profession. He became a certified Physician Assistant in Orthopedic surgery where he continued to use his skill, kindness, and unwavering commitment to healing others.

He spent his golden years actively involved in the lives of his grandchildren and great-grandchildren, treasuring every moment from holiday gatherings to everyday visits. Donald's greatest joy was creating lasting memories with his loved ones, and he will be remembered for the warmth, guidance, and love he shared with his family and friends.

Donald was preceded in death by his parents and his sister, Marlene and her husband, Max.

Family and friends are cordially invited to attend the memorial service in memory of Donald on Wednesday, 29 October at 1:15 PM at the Houston National Cemetery at 10410 Veterans Memorial Drive, Houston, Texas 77038 . If attending, please be there by 1:00 PM.
