On Saturday March 16 2019 Donald Dewain Cox loving father of three daughters passed away at the age of 84 in Tomball Texas just a few days short of his 85th birthday. Services for Dons funeral will be at 10am, Thursday, March 21, 2019 at Klein Funeral home in Tomball and grave side service will be at Forest Park Cemetery Lawndale in Houston.
Don was born on March 25 1934 in Hastings Michigan. He was raised by his mother Zelma Rosetta Cox and had 4 sisters named Thelma, Ruth, Marjorie and Eva as well as 2 brothers named Lawrence and William. He has Three daughters Cheryl, Laura and Glenda. His father was Chester Cox.
During high school Don worked in a slaughter house to help support his family with the money he made there. When Don graduated, he enlisted in the Air Force and became an aircraft mechanic then afterwards became a machinist which he worked as until he retired. Don met his wife Shirley during this time and they got married. He loved telling stories about the time he was enlisted and his work as a machinist at Brown Oil Tools which evolved into Baker Hughes. He also loved to fish, paint and sit outside where he watched the wildlife and waved at neighbors during his retirement. Don also had a beautiful girlfriend named Anna who he loved very much.
Don was preceded in death by his wife Shirley Ann (Speer) Cox, Sisters Ruth Ellene Kidder, Eva Beatrice Wilson and brothers Lawrence Allen Cox and William Willard Cox. He is survived by his daughters Cheryl Lynn Marrow, Laura Ann Stence and Glenda Gail Czikalla. He has 5 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren.
