Donald Rayford Camp (Don)

Don was born on January 7, 1935 in Patmos, Arkansas.  He was the second of three children born to parents Ted & Alice Camp.  The family moved to Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania in 1940.

Don attended Moon Township High School where he played football and golf and graduated in 1953.

He met Marlene Guentner in 1952 and they married in September 1954.  Son, Donnie was born in August 1955 and daughter, Susan was born in July 1958.  The family moved to Houston on Don & Marlene's fifth anniversary in 1959.

Don began his 35 year career with Metropolitan Life Insurance Co. in 1960.  He earned his Chartered Life Underwriters Diploma in September of 1970 and went on to win various awards including President's Club and Millionaire's Club.

After his retirement, Don enjoyed playing golf as often as possible and playing cards with friends.  He also enjoyed reading and watching old movies.

Preceded in death by:  Parents, Ted and Alice Camp; Sister, Loma Billings; and Grandaughter, Lauren Camp.

Survived by:  Beloved wife of 62 years, Marlene; Son, Donnie and wife, Janice; Daughter, Susan Light and husband, Bobby; Grandchildren, Kristin Kubricht and husband, Tommy, Glenn Camp and wife, Amy, Steven Light and wife, Nellie, Brien Camp and wife, Mindy; Great Grandchildren, Peyton Camp and Stevie Light.
