Don Lee Heath, age 76, of Spring, Texas, passed away Monday, August 22, 2016.
He was born July 5, 1940, in Port Arthur, Texas to Harris Neal Heath and Mittie Lucille Pennington Heath. Don had three children -- David Scott Heath and Donnette Lee Heath Gaicochea with his second wife Yvonna Mae Galloway, and Sharon Renee Heath White with his third wife Theresa ("Terry") Marie Huddleston Heath.
After graduating from French High School in Beaumont, Texas in 1958, Don enlisted in the Navy. He served in the Navy from 1958 to 1962 as an Electronics Countermeasure Technician on the Bon Homme Richard aircraft carrier.
Following his time in the service, Don attended Lamar University before beginning his lifetime career as a salesman. Among the places he worked, he was a salesman for David Taylor Buick/Cadillac, Kar Products, and Winzer Corporation. During his time at Kar Products he was in the top sales group for 15 years, reaching as high as number 3 in the company. He sold the largest single order ever shipped out of the Dallas Warehouse in 1983. That record stood for 10 years.
Following the baptisms of his daughter Sharon and his wife Terry, Don was baptized into the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints in 1997. He was sealed to them in the Houston Texas Temple in 2001. Throughout the remaining years of his life, Don served in many positions in the church.
Don dearly loved his family, and was especially proud of his three children and nine grandchildren. He was lovingly known by many of his grandchildren as their "silly grandpa." Don also loved people and was known to strike up conversations with anyone anywhere. He also held a great love for his country.
Don was preceded in death by his parents Harris Neal Heath and Mittie Lucille Pennington Heath, his step-father James Prentice Kelley, his brother Micheal ("Mike") Jimmy Heath Sr., his step-brother James Kenneth Kelley, and step-sister Karen Kelley Keating.
Don is survived by his wife Theresa ("Terry") Marie Huddleston Heath, his sister Marcel Kelley Wendrock (Richard), his son David Scott Heath (Charlene), his daughter Donnette Lee Heath Gaicochea (Josh), his daughter Sharon Renee Heath White (Robert), his niece Joanna Marie Steiner, and his nine grandchildren Robby, Noah, Jenna, Hayden, Olivia, Hadley, Hendley, Natalya, and Elijah.
