Dolores Jean (Byars) Patterson, 68, of Houston, passed away March 2nd. To her family and friends she was "Dolo".
Dolo was born October 29th, 1956, in Woodsville, Texas, the daughter of the late Darrell William Byars and Annie Maxine (Carroll) Byars. She was of the Baptist faith, being baptized in the Hillister Baptist Church, in Hillister Texas. She was a graduate of Woodville (Kirby) High School.
On her Byars side of her family she is survived by her Brother, Roger Darrell Byars (of Dickinson, Texas) and Sister, Janice Hall of Jacksonville, Florida, along with 10 Nieces and Nephews, and 17 Great Nieces and Nephews.
On her Patterson side of the family she is survived by Nephew and Niece Thomas and Michelle Hejl (of Houston, Texas) along with several great Nieces and 1 great Nephew, several great great Nieces and Nephews. Grandson Bryce McGough, and Grandson Cory and wife Forrest Green, 2 great grandsons Samuel Ray and Graydson Green.
Dolo was proceeded in death by her husband, Jimmy Ray Patterson, her Father, Darrell William (Bill) Byars Mother, Annie Maxine Byars (Carroll), her Step-Father, Henry Carroll, her Sister, Barbara Vickery Brown, and her Brother Sammy D. Byars.
In 1999, Dolo was one of the charter members of Diamonds & Dollars Club of Houston, Texas. During her time with the "D&D" Club, she served as President, Vice President and Secretary. She also served as Chairperson over Bar-B-Que Cook-off. Dolo coordinated the annual Bowling Tournament, along with serving on the membership and merchandise committees. As Vice President, she was responsible for Sponsorships.
Dolo was a Lifetime Committeeman at Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo, where she spent thousands of hours volunteering with the "Club East". Dolo had a passion for the "water". You could find her in her free time "boating & fishing" and "at Sea" with family and friends on cruises.
A Celebration of Life will be held April 26, 2025, at 2:00. 22413 Meadow Ct, Waller, TX 77484
A Memorial Service will be held May 10 at 11:00 am, at the "family plot", at Magnolia Cemetery in Woodville, Texas
The Byars/Patterson family wishes to invite everyone who was touched by Dolo's in their lives to please attend the Celebration of Life and the Memorial.
