Daffa Dolores Dobbs, 85, a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother went to be with her Lord and Savior November 29, 2022, in Houston, Texas.

A celebration of her life will be held Friday, December 2, 2022, at 2PM with visitation on Thursday, December 1 from 5-7PM at Klein Funeral Home, 9719 Wortham Blvd., Houston, Texas.

She is survived by her husband, Robert Dobbs, sons, Ricky Dobbs and wife Kim, and Robby

Dobbs and wife Shelley; grandchildren, Megan Dobbs, Robby Dobbs III and wife Emily, Brittany Dobbs, Kati Dobbs, Mackenzie Guthrie and husband Connor, and Ricky Dobbs II; great grandchildren, Elsie Dobbs, and Henry Guthrie; and sister, Faye Raines.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Orent Felton Jones and Mildred Keen Jones as well as her brother, Doug Jones.

Dolores was born in Urania, Louisiana on July 14, 1937, the middle of three children. The family moved to Penwell, Texas where she attended Crane High School. Among numerous honors and awards she was voted most athletic in both her junior and senior years. After high school she met Robert Dobbs at a roller-skating rink in Odessa, Texas. They were married on November 9,

1957, at Belmont Baptist Church. She gave birth to her two sons in Odessa, Ricky in 1961 and Robby in 1965. In 1970, the family moved to Houston, Texas. She worked in Houston as bookkeeper and bank teller. However, her most rewarding career was as an elementary school P.E. teacher at Spring Branch Elementary School. She especially loved her time teaching children with intellectual disabilities.

She was a strong Christian, having given her life to Christ as a child and attended church all her life. She taught Sunday School for both children and ladies at various times. In this area of her life, she was an example and inspiration to her children and grandchildren.

Her greatest joy in life was her six grandchildren. Lovingly known as Mamaw, she loved each of them fiercely and could be counted on to give life advice, both solicited and unsolicited. She was incredibly proud of each of them and was certain each of them was the smartest and most beautiful or handsome among their peers.

While our hearts are broken in the loss of such a strong, wonderful wife, mother and grandmother we are certain of her salvation and assured that we will see her again in heaven.
